Marie Ostarello, MFA in Writing
Marie Ostarello received her MFA in Writing from Vermont College. Her poems, stories and essays have appeared in numerous journals, including The Southeast Review, Hunger Mountain and Fourth Genre: Explorations in Nonfiction, the last of which nominated her work for a Pushcart Prize.
For two years she directed BOOM!, a nonprofit creative writing program and literary magazine at famed Manual High School in Denver, aimed at helping underserved kids develop their voice. BOOM! was a part of the Lighthouse Writers Workshops Young Writers Program.
Marie has been writing professionally for over 20 years as a copywriter and creative director for some of the world's greatest brands. A Chicago native and Colorado transplant 16 years ago, she is fascinated with the wild and urbane, the ordinary and imperfect, the raw and concealed, the comedy in all of life's tragedy.
